"Shooting happened at a time when the car with the chairman of the Duma CIS committee Andrei Kokoshin was passing. Everything has been arranged to accuse the Georgian side", Guram Donadze, public relations officer of the Georgian Interior Ministry, told RIA Novosti.
He explained that Sarabuk is found four kilometres away from the Georgian village Eredvi, where the Georgian peacekeeping force and units of the interior Ministry are located.
"Russian peacekeepers are in between Sarabuk and Ededvi. From the military point of view, shooting from the Georgian village over the dislocation place of Russian peacekeepers is impossible", Donadze thinks.
The peacekeepers' car carrying Kokoshin got under fire in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone on Wednesday. The car had the peacekeepers' identification signs, Kokoshin said by telephone from the site. North Ossetian and Georgian representatives were in the same car.
