RUSSIAN BOYS WIN ALL AWARDS IN WORLD CHEMISTRY CONTEST

MOSCOW, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - A 36th international chemistry competition of secondary school students has finished in Kiel, German northwest, reports the Russian-language Izvestia Nauki (Science News) website. 238 boys and girls from sixty countries were competing.

Alexei Zeifman, tenth-former of Vologda, in European Russia's north, came out absolute champion. Other Russian boys won all the remaining awards. Yegor Vorontsov of Volzhsky, in the lower reaches of the Volga, and Muscovite Ivan Bushmarinov shared silver, and bronze went to Anton Derendiayev of Osa in the Perm Region, Urals.

Russians made much smaller progress in unofficial team qualifications to rank 5th, against 6th in last year's similar contest.

The Chinese team came on top, as it was the previous four years.
