MOSCOW/TSKHINVALI, August 6 (RIA Novosti) - Cochairmen of the Joint Control Commission for settling the Georgian-Ossetian conflict (the commission includes representatives of South Ossetia, North Ossetia, Georgia and Russia) and OSCE observers will visit a series of areas which they had been banned from earlier, said Irina Gagloyeva, chairwoman of the information and press committee of the self-proclaimed republic of South Ossetia.

In her words, a working meeting between the commission's cochairmen is scheduled for this afternoon. The agenda of the meeting provides for monitoring.

"In particular," she said, "they are planning to visit the alternative road, where eight new mine throwing positions have been recently set up, engineering efforts are being conducted and Georgian subdivisions - reinforced."

The bypassing route lies across the mountains near Tskhinvali, and is a good position for shelling the city.
