EDELWEISS TRAINING AREA (Kyrgyzstan), August 6 (RIA Novosti) - At a press conference after the Rubezh 2004 exercises, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said that Su-24 bombers would be purchased for the Russian armed forces.
"We have no doubts about these planes," said the minister adding that they could operate successfully in mountainous areas.
Mr. Ivanov noted that Russia would supply CSTO member countries with weapons at domestic prices.
He also said that Russian leadership had definite plans for the further development of the Kant air base in Kyrgyzstan.
"We will invest in its infrastructure's development," the minister noted.
