Irina Gagloeva, head of the South Ossetian information and press committee, said this to RIA Novosti by telephone.
"The meeting has been cancelled because the Georgian representatives have not come, referring to the sitting of the National Security Council in Tbilisi", she said.
The MCC co-chairmen and the OSCE observers were going on Friday to visit several places where the observers were not let into before.
Particularly, they planned to visit a bypass road where eight new mortar emplacements had recently been set up and the Georgian units were beefing up, Gagloeva said.
The bypass road passes in the mountains near Tskhinvali, ensuring shelling of the South Ossetian capital.
Since 1992, after the peak of Georgian-Ossetian confrontation, the conflict zone has been controlled by the peacekeeping forces and the MCC. It is made up of representatives of Russia, Georgia, South Ossetia and North Ossetia (part of the Russian Federation).
