BISHKEK, AUGUST 7 (RIA Novosti) - In Kyrgyzstan the search for mountain climbers missing after avalanche descent on the Khan Tenrgi peak has been suspended.

It is because of the on-going avalanche process on the site, reports the press service of the Kyrgyz Emergency Situations and Ecology Ministry. Further search would now endanger the life of rescuers, ministerial specialists say.

According to the ministry, five mountaineers are missing. They began ascent teamed up with other six sportsmen, whose bodies have not yet been found.

Glacier movements happened in the early morning on Thursday at an over 6,000-metre altitude in between the Khan Tengri and the Chapaev peaks.

The 7,010-metre-high Khan Tengri peak is ranked as the world's most dangerous and has 6A difficulty category in mountaineers' classification.
