"Adoption of this document will meet the state's strategic interests in enhancement of the national military-industrial complex as well as development and production of weapons and military equipment," the spokesperson said.
The presidential press-service announced Wednesday that Vladimir Putin signed a decree approving a national register of strategic enterprises and companies.
The Russian Government spokesperson pointed out that the current national register of strategically vital organizations would be replenished with major research and production facilities currently being set up in the military-industrial complex in compliance with the President's instructions.
Concern PVO Almaz-Antei is one of such organizations that has been recently included into the national register of strategically vital companies.
The spokesperson pointed out that President had made a decision in 2004 to set up a number of integrated industrial facilities; these are currently at the stage of formation and will be added to the national register of strategically vital enterprises and companies after due registration with appropriate state agencies.
Among others, the national register comprises such prominent organizations as the Korolev Missile and Space Corporation `Energia` and the Khrunichev State Space Industrial Centre.
