CHISINAU, AUGUST 10 (RIA Novosti) - The "school problem" of Transdniestria will be resolved, Igor Savolski, special envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti.

"In Tiraspol today I have got assurances from the head of the Transdniestrian administration that the 'school problem' will be settled to the satisfaction of children and their parents", Savolski said. He is now in Moldova to help Chisinau and Tiraspol in settling this problem, deblocking the negotiating process and removing mutual sanctions.

Savolski said that it has in principle been confirmed that "children must learn in the language they and their parents choose".

Selection of specific ways to resolve the problem has begun, he said.

"Chisinau is still for suspending five-lateral talks and meetings between experts", the Russian diplomat noted.

And specified that there is no talk of Chisinau's leaving the negotiating process.

"Anyhow, movements are being made though mutual reproaches still exist", Savolski said. "There's much work ahead for go-betweens".

During his two days of stay in Moldova, the Russian special envoy has had meetings with Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, Foreign Minister Andrei Stratan and leaders of Transdniestria.
