BISHKEK, August 11 (RIA Novosti) - The number of rescue workers searching for the mountain climbers lost on Mt. Khan-Tegri will be reduced because of the threat of avalanches.

Emil Akmatov, press secretary of Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Ecology and Emergencies, told RIA Novosti that on Wednesday, a ministry helicopter would take the rescue workers from the mountain climbers' base camp to the regional center of Karakol.

According to Mr. Akmatov, such a measure was necessary because of the danger of another avalanche. About ten people will remain to continue the search.

The body of a mountain climber from the Czech Republic, which was found on Monday, will be brought on the same flight. Rescue workers from Russia and Kyrgyzstan found two mountain climbers alive and the bodies of four others. Seven climbers from Russia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine are still missing.

Rescuers from Russia's Emergencies Ministry arrived on August 6 to participate in the search operation.

"Bad weather conditions and the high danger of more avalanches are, as before, slowing the search for the mountain climbers," Russia's Emergencies Ministry told RIA Novosti.

The ministry's officials said that 86 people, three dogs and two helicopters were involved in the search and rescue operation, which is being done at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. Thirty-six of the rescue workers, the three dogs, and one helicopter are from Russia's Emergencies Ministry.

Mt. Khan-Tegri (7,010 meters) is considered to be one of the most dangerous peaks in the world and has the second highest difficulty category, 6A.
