SOUTH OSSETIA: GEORGIAN SOLDIERS LEAVE TSKHINVALI HEIGHTS

MOSCOW, August 19 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia is pulling out its army and Interior units from seized heights close to the village of Eredvi, in the vicinity of Tskhinvali, South Ossetian capital. Peacekeeping posts are replacing Georgian troops. General Svyatoslav Nabzdorov, in command of Russian peacekeepers, and Georgy Baramidze, Georgia's Defense Minister, are monitoring the pullout.

The information reached Novosti in a telephone interview with a staff officer of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone.
