"Preparations for the elections are made in compliance with the federal and republican legislation," he emphasized.
The Chechen commission has registered 7 presidential candidates and 21 contenders that earlier announced their wish to run for presidency, Mr. Arsakhanov recalled.
603,000 ballot papers have been printed and are now kept in territorial election commissions, he said.
"430 polling stations have been created in the republic, preparations are being made by 20 territorial and 430 local election commissions," he added.
"Commissions include over 3,700 people, of whom 60% are women, and none of commission members has refused the work," he said.
According to Mr. Arsakhanov, the current voters' lists include 587,000 people, and "election commissions are working to check their accuracy, even personally visiting houses".
When speaking on election propaganda in the republican mass media, the commission's chief said that "on the whole it is conducted in compliance with law".
However, "not all issues have been fully resolved," he admitted.
"The state bodies and the immigration service have not solved the problem of organizing voting for the republic's citizens residing in other regions of Russia, neighboring on Chechnya," he said.
Also it is necessary to work "on such issues as quick delivery of information concerning the progress and outcome of the vote, delivery of protocols to superior election commissions," Mr. Arsakhanov pointed out.
The Commission's meeting was attended by Chechnya's acting president Sergei Abramov, representatives of the Russian Interior Ministry, Defense Ministry, Foreign Ministry, border troops and theCommunications Ministry, as well as by international observers from the CIS Executive Committee, the EU and Indonesia.
The presidential elections in Chechnya are held due to the death of president Akhmad Kadyrov, who was killed in a terrorist attack at a stadium in Grozny on May 9. The elections are scheduled for August 29.
