MOSCOW, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - The CIS Fuel and Energy and Raw Resources exposition will open in the All-Russia Exposition Center (former Exhibition of People's Economy Achievements) in Moscow's northeast on August 24.

Major fuel and energy, raw and engineering companies of the Commonwealth of Independent States will present innovate technologies, materials, equipment, machines, oil survey technologies, and workwear at the four-day exposition, the CIS Executive Committee reported.

"The exposition will launch the plan to raise efficiency of the CIS economic cooperation adopted by the council of heads of state in Yalta in 2003," the Executive Committee said.

Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine will participate in the exposition.

"Most CIS countries fail to independently provide consumers with electric and fuel energy as they lack fuel and energy resources, above all, organic fuel," the Executive Committee stressed.

In this connection the synchronization of the CIS energy systems is highly important. Thirteen out of 15 national energy systems of the CIS and Baltic States (except Turkmenistan and Armenia for technical reasons) are involved in joint work.

"Integration of the CIS electric energy system in the Trans-European Synchronously Interconnected System (TESIS) uniting Western, Central and South-Eastern Europe is strategically important today," the CIS Executive Committee reported.
