MOSCOW, August 21 (RIA Novosti) - On Saturday Russian Yuri Bolotov, 39, starts from Moscow on the second stage of his round-the-world travel across Kazakhstan, China, Southeast Asia and New Zealand.

He travels by hitch-hiking, bicycle or just on foot. This stage is to take him about six months until August 2005, Yuri Bolotov told RIA Novosti. He also plans the third stage.

First, he traveled from Moscow via the Trans-Caucasian region to Turkey, Iraq, Iran, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan.

It was not an easy trip. The traveler was detained by American troopers in Iraq and kept in the Abu-Ghraib prison. The Russian authorities helped his release.

The hardships he encountered en route have not affected Yuri Bolotov's willingness to travel and see new countries and people.
