VLADIVOSTOK, August 23 (RIA Novosti's Veronika Perminova) - M.Mice, a 44-year-old tourist from the USA, was hospitalized at the hospital in Palana settlement of the Koryak Autonomous Area (the Russian Far East).
As RIA Novosti was told in the Far-Eastern regional centre of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry (MChS) on Monday, US citizen M.Mice together with other tourists flew to the mountains in the upper reaches of the Lesnaya river for licensed bear hunting.
As a result of his own carelessness, the tourist received a leg injury, the MChS regional centre's officials said. The injured needed emergency medical assistance and hospitalization.
A Mi-8 helicopter with a medical team on board flew to the scene of the incident.
The US citizen was hospitalized at the Areal hospital in Palana settlement where surgical assistance was given to him. The physicians estimate the patient's condition as satisfactory.
