"Five militants in the Prigorodnoye area and seven in the Pervomaiskoye area were killed as a result of bombarding militants' localities, and three suspects were detained," he said.
The general made the point that missile and bomb strikes were delivered to places several kilometres away from the villages.
At the moment federal Spetsnaz troops have sealed the area where remnants of bandit groups are hiding and continue the search for fighters, both killed and wounded.
On Monday, in the environs of Grozny, Spetsnaz men discovered the rump of the bandit groups that were destroyed in part on August 21 in the Chechen capital.
"The bandit groups were located late Monday evening in a wooded area near Prigorodnoye and Chechen-Aul of the Grozny district and also next to Pervomaiskoye of the same district," said Shabalkin.
According to the general, two groups were identified, and were attacked by helicopters and artillery.
