* The Federal Agency for the Press and Mass Communications and the International Book Fair Authority are to stage a press-conference on the 17th Moscow international book fair.
* RIA Novosti will be the venue of a press-conference by Dmitry Sukhoparov, director of the Power Industry Ministry's international cooperation department, who will talk on economic foundations of inter-state associations with Russia's participation and prospects for establishing a Common Economic Space.
* The Interfax agency is to host two press-conferences:
-- one dedicated to the 8th Interpolytex-2004 exhibition of special police and
military technology and the IDELF-2004 fair of the land forces'
products of military designation;
-- the other by Lyubov Kezina, chief of the Moscow education
department, to speak on the new academic year.
* Eurasian Movement leader A.Dugin and Al-Jazeera Moscow office head Akram Khouzam will hold a press-conference on the geopolitics of Islamic jihad and the USA's crusade in the Middle East.
* The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will welcome Boris Titov, chairman of Delovaya Rossiya (Business Russia), who, together with Chamber's President Yevgeny Primakov, will sign an agreement on cooperation.
* The Central Journalists House plans a press-conference 'Moscow's Builders For the City Day," to be given by First Vice-Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Resin. On the agenda are such issues as what is to be built on the site of the destroyed Rossia hotel; what the future of the Moscow central pedestrian zone is; whether rents in the capital are to be decreased or not.
* The Moscow regional interior department will offer a briefing, "Foreign crime in the Moscow region: prevention and exposure of illegitimate employment of foreign citizens and citizenship-lacking persons at construction sites, shopping outlets and markets in the Moscow region". To be attended by chiefs ofthe Moscow region's migration and visa authorities.
VLADIVOSTOK
* In the Amur Gulf, the ministry for emergency situations in association with other ministries and departments will stage exercises in handling extraordinary situations caused by acts of terrorism.
TASHKENT
* Japan's Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguti will come to Uzbekistan on an official visit. On the day of her arrival, she will make a statement laying down Japanese policy in Central Asia.
PLYMOUTH, GREAT BRITAIN
* The large landing ship Minsk of the Baltic Fleet with a marines platoon on board will call at the Plymouth harbour to attend celebrations of Royal Navy Day and the 60th anniversary of allied forces' landing in Normandy. The Russian vehicle plans afterwards to take part together with British ships in joint exercises on rendering humanitarian aid.
