"We are going on with tyre supplies to Iraq, and we shall do so in the future, war or no war," Radik Ilyasov, Nizhnekamskshina Director General, said to a news conference in Moscow today.
Current exports are on three recently made contracts, which envisage a lump 12,000 items to 1.7 million Euro.
Tyre batches have been dispatched to Iraq on another two contracts, which were signed before Iraqi warfare started. All payments have been made.
"It depends on the United Nations Security Council whether we shall increase our Iraqi exports," said Mr. Ilyasov.
The Tatneft is negotiating to step up its presence in the Iraqi tyre market, the company announced on a previous occasion. A company spokesman does not rule out more export contracts coming up.
The Tatneft ranks Russia's 6th and the world's 30th for petroleum extraction, and the world's 18th for prospected deposits.
