ST. PETERSBURG, August 28 (RIA Novosti's Maxim Nichiporenko) - On Saturday, August 28, Ivangorod (Leningrad region) hosts the Narva Victory events to mark the 300th anniversary of the capture of Narva fortress by the Russian troops during the Northern War with Sweden (1700-1721).

On Saturday morning Russian and Estonian historians have participated in historical readings in Ivangorod, said the press service of the Leningrad region's government.

After that, a monument in the shape of a cross will be unveiled on Kamperholm island, which saw the start of the Russian offensive operation in the fall of 1700. The headquarters of Emperor Peter I was located on this island.

The historical reconstruction of the battle of the fortress will be held during the Narva Victory celebrations. However, the complete reconstruction is impossible because Narva belongs to Estonia, the press service reported.
