Researchers have discovered macromolecular pathological complexes in the blood of children having a grave type of allergic bronchial asthma. Formation of such complexes indicates exacerbation of the disease and their disappearance shows the efficiency of treatment. Pathological complexes can be promptly discovered by the method of laser correlation spectroscopy. It relies on registering the spectrum of laser light passed through a liquid. A special computer programme helps in studying the content of particles of different size in the liquid under study. In grave types of asthma, the blood develops supermolecular complexes tens and hundreds of times larger than in light and medium types.
Earlier, Moscow specialists discovered such pathological complexes in the blood of children with insulin-dependent diabetes. The gravity of the disease also corresponded to the intensity of complex formation.
