VLADIVOSTOK, August 31 (RIA Novosti's Anatoly Ilyukhov) - Members of a group that illegally produced and sold pirated computer programs, including viruses, and pirated pornographic films were detained in Magadan.
The local law enforcement officers reported on Tuesday that during a police operation, "a control purchase" was made first, which allowed authorities to locate the underground factory.
During the search, nearly 4,000 CDs and DVDs were confiscated.
Experts confirmed that by using some of the programs, one could easily crack computer passwords, generate credit card numbers, and do other harmful things to computer users.
The confiscated CDs and DVDs contained more than 300 viruses as well as information on creating viruses.
