Border guards of the two countries will hold joint manoeuvres to practice communications and maneuvering, assist a ship in distress and to curb smuggling. The US coast guard cutter Storis will take part in the maneuvers.
On September 6, a Russian border guard delegation led by Lieutenant-General Valery Putov, head of the department, will fly to Alaska.
The Vorovsky will be off Kodiak until September 12.
A return call by a ship of US Coast Guard District 17 to Kamchatka is scheduled for the spring of 2005.
In the summer of last year a joint Russian-American exercise took place, involving the Vorovsky, the Munro cutter, and a C-130 aircraft of US Coast Guard District 17. In April of this year the crews of the Vorovsky and of the American cutter Jarvis took part in the first stage of a joint navigation and radio communication training exercise.
