MOSCOW, September 2, (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin has decided to postpone his official visit to Turkey, scheduled for September 2-3, the presidential press-service reported.
"The Turkish leadership was informed of this decision and showed full understanding. In this connection, the presidents of Russia and Turkey will also have a telephone conversation today," says the press-service in its release.
On September 1, a group of terrorists had captured a secondary school in the town of Beslan in North Ossetia (a republic in southern Russia). A total of 354 hostages are being held in the school. Seven people have fallen victim of the terrorist attack, with no children among them.
