RUSSIA'S ECONOMY MINISTRY TO OFFER PRIVATISED COMPANY LAND REDEMPTION FEES AMOUNT

MOSCOW, September 10 (RIA Novosti) - The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will be ready, before October's start, with proposals to offer to the federal government concerning the amount of redemption fees for land plots held by privatised companies. "The Cabinet is gathering for session, October, and our ministry has been instructed to be ready with initiatives by October 1," deputy minister Andrei Sharonov said to reporters Friday.

The ministry thinks the fees ought to proceed from land rent rates. The basic rate will be calculated, from 2006 on, proceeding from the cadastral value.

The fees will vary depending on the population of particular settlements. These will fall into two categories-with population below a million, and exceeding a million.

The ministry has brought its blueprints down to all offices and companies involved, and is waiting for response. Regrettably, clashes persist with certain organisations over basic rates and some other issues. All such contentious issues will be debated at the negotiating table. In particular, there are pointed differences between Moscow municipal authorities and the Russian Industrialists' and Entrepreneurs' League, said Andrei Sharonov.
