MOSCOW, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine, Belorussia and Russia should work out joint approaches to the drive against terrorism, says the Russian Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov.

"As long as we fail to work out joint approaches to this problem, we shall stand to lose, with out border being like a sieve," Zyuganov told reporters Tuesday. In his opinion, priority in anti-terrorism efforts should be given to the establishment of a union with Ukraine and Belorussia.

Zyuganov believes that it is the experience of the Soviet Union that can be benefited from in resistance to terrorism.

"The Soviet Union had been the safest country in the world in its last years. The only safe border now is the old border of the Soviet Union," added Zyuganov, who thinks that the destiny of the Russian Federation is to be decided in the next few months for years to come.

Coming elections in Ukraine and Belorussia are an important factor for Russia. He claims that if "the American stooges come to power, this will mean an end to the Russian Federation".

Zyuganov argues that neither Ukraine nor Belorussia nor Russia will be able to combat terrorism on their own. Besides, Zyuganov thinks that Russia has certain interests in Europe while "roads to Europe lie across Ukraine and Belorussia".

Commenting on the institution of the all-Russia Communist Party of the Future (RCPF) last Saturday, Zyuganov said "they would parasitize on our body". He claims it will build up its initial political luggage by criticizing Zyuganov's Communist Party.

"These are impostors who steal organisations from others and make decisions of no legal value at all," said Gennady Zyuganov.

Those 78 people who rallied for their conference represented only three of 14 organisations incorporated in the People's Patriotic Union of Russia. Zyuganov is certain that the conference will not lead to the consolidation of the Left-wing patriotic forces.

"No serious people will ever go to this union. Many members of the coordinating council have dubbed it as a circus, which is not worthwhile being even commented on. It is all because our attitude toward the wide patriotic movement is very serious," said Zyuganov.
