MOSCOW, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - While Soren Jensen-Petersen, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and head of the UNMIK mission in Kosovo, is in Moscow, he will discuss the situation in Kosovo, the UN mission in Moscow told RIA Novosti.

Mr. Jensen-Petersen will arrive in Moscow at the invitation of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Aside from meeting with Mr. Lavrov, during his one-day visit, Mr. Jensen-Petersen will also meet with Deputy Foreign Minister Yury Fedotov.

During Mr. Jensen-Petersen's visit to Moscow, he is expected to discuss many issues relating to the Kosovo settlement.

In particular, issues of ensuring security in the province and the conditions for the return of refugees and temporary displaced people will be discussed.

In an interview with RIA Novosti about the debates on the Kosovo problems in the UN, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Razov said, "after the outbreak of violence in March in Kosovo, the situation remains tense and new ethnic related incidents have been recorded."

A mono-ethnic Albanian space was de-facto created on a considerable part of the province's territory while the Serb population was forced to live in enclaves where their security is not guaranteed.

Mr. Razov said that he had not ruled out that relations between Serbs and Albanians would deteriorate because of the October 23 elections to the assembly.

He said that in such a situation, a repeat of the events in March could not be ruled out.

In this connection the Russian side hopes the international administrations in Kosovo will take a number of preventive measures to avert a new spiral of violence.
