MAKHACHKALA, September 19 (RIA Novosti) - A skirmish killed three policemen and three bandits close to the township Talghi, 8 kilometers south of Makhachkala, capital of Daghestan, Russia's North Caucasian autonomy bordering on Chechnya.
Shooting started on both sides as the police came on a militant camp in the wooded highlands. A thorough search for escaped bandits is on, to involve several republican Interior Ministry units.
