This was disclosed to RIA Novosti here today at the regional command center for supervising the North Caucasian counter-terrorist operation.
According to the center's spokesperson, four bandits have been killed during a special operation, which got underway in the evening of September 23 near Mairtup village, and which still continues.
Two thugs were killed in the vicinity of Alleroi village. Both of them had sided with Avdorkhanov's gang, i.e. Maskhadov's body guards, the authorities claim.
Moreover, a four-man gang was located in Chechnya's Shali district, that is, not far from Avtury village, with federal forces firing mortars at the thugs. Commandos subsequently killed two bandits there.
A gang was bombed in the vicinity of Tsentoroi village, Kurchaloi district. A militant's body was subsequently found there.
The afore-said gang was exposed by the Chechen president's security service. Right now, commandos and the Chechen president's security-service operatives are trying to locate surviving bandits, reports the command center.
