MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - In Brussels in late September-early October, Russia and the European Union will have talks on increasing steel quotas for Russia, Maxim Medvedkov, head of the trade talks board at the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, has told journalists.
Since 2005 Russia has been seeking an increase in its steel supplies to the European market.
In late July Russia and the European Union concluded a steel agreement amending the 2002 agreement. Under the amendments, import quotas on Russian steel increase owing to the EU expansion. The quantity limits are 438,216 tonnes up from the preceding 1,384,000 tonnes for this year.
