The foreign ministers confirmed "the readiness of both sides to an overwhelming boost of cooperation in the international scene in the interests of forming a more just, equal and democratic world order based on strict observance of the norms and principles of international law and the UN Charter," notes the document.
The ministers stressed the importance of respecting and observing the principles of a sovereign equality of states, non-use of force, self-determination, non-interference in domestic affairs, as well as recognition of the peoples' right to independent development and free determination of the social-political model of their development.
Russia and Cuba decisively condemned terrorism in all forms and manifestations, wherever and whoever against terrorist acts are perpetrated and regardless of their motives. The ministers expressed confidence that international cooperation under the UN aegis is the most efficient mechanism to consolidate efforts in the fight against international terrorism.
The ministers spoke for the soonest completion of the coordination of the draft international convention on combating nuclear terrorism acts proposed by Russia.
The document notes the importance of a global approach to the issue of human rights and the inadmissibility of using this theme as an instrument to interfere with the domestic affairs of sovereign states, as well as to justify military actions in violation of the UN Charter.
