"The disorganization of illegal armed formations' structures takes place not due to militants giving themselves up to the law-enforcement bodies. This is explained, above all by the fact that a considerable part of warlords leaves the bands, acquires documents using fictitious identification data which give the right to leave Russia and receive the status of refugees in several Western European countries," a ROS representative said.
According to him, the number of Chechen citizens who want to receive political asylum in Eastern Europe, above all in Poland, has considerably increased of late.
The data coming to the law-enforcement bodies show that under the cover of refugees members of the illegal armed formations are often trying to leave the territory of the republic and thus avoid punishment for their crimes, including the terrorist acts," the source added.
He also pointed out that foreign mercenaries from the terrorist organizations of Moslem Brothers, Al Haramain and Al Qaeda commanded the militants in Chechnya. In this connection the ROS does not rule out that terrorist acts may be committed in Europe.
