MOSCOW, October 8 (RIA Novosti) - The United Nations Security Council passed an anti-terror resolution today. It has special importance in the current situation, as international terrorist danger looms over all countries and continents, and its manifestations are ever more blatant and inhuman, said Sergei Lavrov, Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Russian-offered resolution No. 1566 concerns extra anti-terror measures. "It is launching the international anti-terror alliance on a thoroughly new level under the UN aegis," pointed out the minister.

"The Beslan tragedy offered a heinous proof of that danger. At the same time, it gave us a powerful impetus to cement the anti-terror coalition," he emphatically added.
