GROZNY, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - A terrorist base meant for 30 people was discovered and eliminated in Chechnya's Kurchaloi district as a result of the Russian Defense Ministry's special force operation, said a spokesman for the regional operative staff for the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

Local residents provided the information, which helped discover the base 4 km to the north of Dzhaglargi village, the spokesman reported. It contained a dugout placing 30 militants, a kitchen and some observation units and trenches, he added.

According to the spokesman, sleeping provisions, dishes, and food products weighing 150 kg were found in the base.

After the examination, the base was blown up. At the moment the search for the militants who arranged this shelter is underway.

Seven militants have already been eliminated in the Kurchaloi district, the PR group of the FSB department for Chechnya reported.

Meanwhile, two servicemen of the interior troops were wounded as a result of an antipersonnel mine explosion. It happened when a group of servicemen was coming back to the military commandant's office of Grozny's Oktyabrsky district after shooting exercises, a source in the regional operative source said.
