According to Mr. Gryzlov, late in July the sides signed a protocol outlining directions of joint cooperation in terms of developing the social and labor legislation.
"The three months of joint work gave us the chance to see that both sides fully comply with their commitments", he noted.
Among separate directions of cooperation, according to Mr. Gryzlov, are implementation of the administrative reform, rise in salary for the budget-paid employees, gradual increase in the minimal monthly wage and bringing it to the minimum subsistence level as well as a number of laws ensuring social protection of citizens.
He also emphasized that the main task of both the United Russia and the trade unions was enhancing the living standards of citizens.
In Mr. Shmakov's opinion, the concluded agreement "will boost the lawmaking process in the sphere of the social and labor legislation".
Besides, according to him, it requires coordinated efforts towards harmonizing other sections of the legislation related to social and labor rights of working persons.
In his turn, chairman of the State Duma's Labor and Social Policy Committee Andrey Isaev pointed out that designed during the joint consultations between the faction and the trade unions had been a comprehensive program of joint work. In particular, it applies to amendments to the Labor Code, sufficient financing of the Social Security Fund and Russia's Pension Fund.
At the same time, Mr. Isaev said that the faction intended to hold required consultations with the trade unions on all main issues.
"We are trying to put the principle of social partnership deeper in theState Duma's practices, when no important social projects are adopted without participation of representatives of the government, trade unions and employers", noted Mr. Isaev.
