The Supreme Court of Abkhazia is to gather to consider the issue on October 14.
"Law-contradicting attempts are being made to impose alien will and to deprive the Abkhaz people of the right to vote," Ardzimba said, adding that it is not for the first time that fisting takes the upper hand in Abkhazia. He warned once again about the prospect of this leading to bloodshed.
"All speculation about these processes being uncontrolled is groundless. An experienced puppeteer is obviously behind all these thought-out activities following Tbilisi scenario. Actually, Abkhazia is being swept by a creeping take-over," says the president's statement.
A majority of the central electoral commission's members signed a protocol on declaring Sergey Bagapsha the winner of presidential elections (50.08% of the voters), according to Monday evening mass media reports with reference to the central electoral commission member Alexander Adleiba. The figures take into account the vote in the controversial Galsky district.
As a result, the central electoral commission's head Sergey Smyr has resigned.
Making a reminder that complaints from two candidates were submitted for the consideration of the Supreme Court, Ardzinba has called upon the legislative and judicial authorities of Abkhazia to provide a clear-cut legal assessment of recent events.
"Our people are facing the threat of losing freedom and independence but unfortunately very few of them realize this. We are wasting a unique chance of consolidating our gains which have already claimed the lives of hundreds of Abkhazia's sonsand daughters and this tragedy is unfolding against the background of merry-making as if a victory over the enemy has been scored," says the statement.
