MOSCOW, October 13, (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin adheres to two rules - never lie and do not "pose as a major political personality of modern times". He said this in an interview with representatives of Chinese media - the newspaper Renmin Ribao, the newspaper "Young Correspondent of China" and Central Television of China.

"I always try to observe several rules. Above all, never lie and always speak the truth whether it is good, pleasant or not so. Our people deserve to be spoken to in the language of truth. That is point one," the president said.

"Second point is that I never allow myself to pose as 'a key political figure of our times', as people used to speak of Soviet-era party and state leaders, Putin remarked.

According to the head of state, a person pursuing the kind of activity he pursues should keep such human qualities as would enable him to understand what makes the ordinary citizen tick, and what are the problems he is encountering in daily life.

"Tasks now facing us outnumber the problems we have resolved today. So no one of us suffers from dizziness from success. We will go on working the way we do," the president said.

In replying to the question about his daughters, Putin said that he would like to see them (daughters) do jobs that are most interesting for them. "Jobs where they could fulfil themselves as persons. And this choice they must make themselves," the president said.
