MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Inadequate use of military force by Israel can undermine the prospects of resuming the political dialogue with the Palestinians, reads a statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press department received by RIA Novosti on Friday.

"It is obvious that inadequate use of military force in densely populated areas creates additional difficulties on the way of the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and can undermine the prospects of resuming the political dialog between the sides", reads the statement.

The large-scale military operation, ongoing in the Haza Strip since late September under the slogan of preventing terrorist attacks against Israel, still causes a death toll. According to the available information, killed only on October 14 were seven Palestinians including women and children. Over the period of its duration the Israeli operation has killed 130 Palestinians, brought down residential buildings and infrastructure of the Palestinian territories.

"With this regard we call upon Israel to withdraw its troops from the Haza Strip as soon as possible, and urge the Palestinian leadership to undertake strict and decisive measures against extremists", the document points out.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also stated that "taking into account the acuteness of the evolving situation special representative of the Russian foreign minister, ambassador at large Alexander Kalugin is expected to be dispatched to the region".

The statement does not specify the exact date of his travel to the Middle East.

The main task of Mr. Kalugin will be to intensify the contribution to the efforts towards ceasing the military confrontation in the Middle East and to establish the conditions for resuming the progress along the way of the Middle East settlement outlined in the "road map", reads the document.
