MOSCOW, October 17 (RIA Novosti) - All terrorists who participated in the hostage taking in School No. 1 of the North Ossetian city of Beslan were drug addicts, said deputy Russian Prosecutor General Nikolai Shepel.

"Full forensic-chemical examination of the militants' bodies showed that all of them took drugs, including heroin and morphine, which they took intravenously," reads a statement of the Russian Prosecutor General's North Caucasus Department.

By the prosecutor's office data, some terrorists had an overdose of drugs, which proves that they had been drug addicts for a long time and were constantly taking narcotics.

"Besides, in experts' opinion, the tests show that part of bandits had no more drugs and were in abstinence, which is usually accompanied by aggressiveness and inadequate behavior," notes the statement.

In the prosecutor's office's opinion, these data make it possible to assess the situation in Beslan on September 3 in a new way.
