VIENNA, October 19 (RIA Novosti's Borislav Pechnikov) - At a session of the International Coordination Council on Trans-Siberian Transportation (CCTST) in Vienna on Tuesday, ways to increase the quality and competitiveness of the transportation of transit and foreign trade cargo along the Trans-Siberian Railway (Transsib) will be discussed, head of Russian Railways' public relations department Konstantin Pashkov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, it is also planned to discuss the possibility of using new types of the rolling stock and special containers for shipments on Transsib, as well as Transsib tariffs in comparison with tariffs on alternative routes.

Another item on the agenda is the creation of a telecommunication line from Nakhodka (Russian Far East)-Moscow-Minsk-Warsaw-Berlin, and also to Finland, Mongolia and China. The line would ensure information support for container shipments on the railroad.

The Vienna session will be attended by Austrian Vice Chacellor, Federal Minister for Transportation, Innovations and Technique Hubert Gorbach, State Secretary for Traffic Affairs Helmut Kukacka and other Austrian statesmen.

Gennady Fadeyev, head of Russian Railways, will lead the Russian delegation and give a report, "The Use of the Trans-Siberian Railway's Potential is the Priority Task of the CCTST."

Mr. Fadeyev also intends to conduct negotiations with the management of the Austrian transportation company Plasser und Teurer and with the management of a number of international forwarding firms and transportation organizations.

The eighth plenary session of the CCTST in Vienna will end on Wednesday.
