President Yudoyono was happy to have a congratulatory telephone call from President Vladimir Putin today.
"Our new head of state is a geopolitical expert, so he highly appreciates the essential role Russia is playing in regional affairs," said our informant.
The President will pay special attention to closer military-technological ties with Russia, he added.
"All this shows excellent prospects for Russian-Indonesian partnership," the presidential spokesman rounded off his interview.
The Kremlin press service has also reported today's telephone conversation, in which President Putin heartily greeted his Indonesian counterpart upon the inauguration. Both Presidents said they were sure of long-established bilateral friendly partnership destined for further all-round progress.
