According to Capital Partners Ltd. director in Moscow Yusuf Sarimsakchi, the new hotel will contain a fitness center, s swimming pool, a tea room, a lobby bar on the first floor and a bar on the roof, and restaurants, including a restaurant under a cupola.
The project is worth about $150 million. It is financed by Kazkommertsbank, one of the largest banks in Kazakhstan and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The new hotel is to be an eight-ten storied building. Its total area will be some 30,000 square meters.
The Intourist hotel had 22 stories and it was the main reason of its demolition. The hotel built 31 years ago in the late Soviet constructivist style was in no harmony with the architecture of Moscow's historic center.
In November 2001 Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov signed the order on the Intourist demolition and construction of a new hotel. At first, a Hilton hotel was to be built at this site. However, later Capital Partners Limited gave preference to Ritz Carlton.
