Regular domestic passports will soon add to the list of papers on which Ukrainians are granted entry to Russia. "I shall order it to the Foreign and Interior ministries and the Kremlin staff as soon as I come back home," promised the President.
Russia and Ukraine do not intend to introduce entry/exit visas between themselves, he said to another question from the audience.
The President thinks Russia, Ukraine and Belarus ought to introduce reciprocal dual citizenship. Contacts between the three countries are very specific, and he approves the prospect.
Mr. Putin also promised to prolong the term for Ukrainian nationals' unregistered sojourn in Russia.
As the TV anchor pointed out, Russians can stay in Ukraine for ninety days without registration, while Ukrainians in Russia mere three days. "That's unjust!" she said-and the President agreed.
"Considering our contacts for today, we are in duty bound to achieve complete reciprocity-Ukrainians in Russia should be entitled to the rights Ukraine has granted Russians, so we shall introduce it."
As the President emphatically said, foreign citizens withdrew from their banking accounts in Russia more than ten billion US dollars in cash last year alone, as Central Bank statistics have it. CIS countries' nationals accounted for 2.5 billion of this-in particular, Ukrainians for 1.3 billion.
