13 PEOPLE WOUNDED IN TWO EXPLOSIONS IN GROZNY

GROZNY, October 31 (RIA Novosti) - 13 people were wounded as a result of two explosions - on the Staropromyslovsky road and near city hospital No. 9 - on Sunday morning in Grozny, reported a source at the Chechen Interior Ministry in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"The majority of wounded are from the Chechen President's security service and hospital workers," the source mentioned. Meanwhile, he did not confirm the information about some deaths at the Staropromyslovsky road.

According to the Chechen Interior Ministry representative, the first bomb was set off at 7:40 a.m. Moscow time in the central part of Grozny on the Staropromyslovsky road when a group of the Chechen President's security service officers was coming back from an operation. As a result, two officers were wounded and transported to city hospital No. 9, where the second explosion occurred.

"A VAZ-2106 filled with explosives was at 5-meter range from the entrance to the hospital. It was a powerful explosion and the car was practically ripped to pieces. Besides, the explosion damaged the nearby cars, including some ambulances and smashed almost all window panes in the building," said the source interviewed by RIA Novosti.

He added that 11 people were wounded as a result of the second explosion, some of them are in a critical condition.

An investigation team is working at the site of the second explosion.
