KIEV, November 1 (RIA Novosti) - Viktor Yanukovich is in the lead. As of 9 am local time (or 10 am Moscow time), 41.43% of voters has supported Mr Yanukovich, Sergei Kivalov, chief of Ukraine's Central Election Commission, told a news briefing. Viktor Yushchenko was supported by 37.92% of voters.
84.3% of polling stations' protocols have been processed.
Mr Yushchenko is more popular in the west as 53% of Ukrainian nationals voted for him abroad, while Mr Yanukovich was supported by 38% of voters, according to Mr Kivalov.
66% of protocols from foreign polling stations have been processed.
