VLADIVOSTOK, November 4 (RIA Novosti's Anatoly Ilyukhov) - A rescue crew found a raft with survivors in the coastal waters of the Maritime Territory on Thursday November 4. According to the Far Eastern centre of the Emergencies Ministry, the raft was found at 1:30 p.m. local time (6:30 a.m. Moscow time) and several vessels are heading to the area; it will take them three hours to reach the survivors.
The raft may be from the dry cargo ship Arosa or the timber carrier West, which suffered from the Tuesday storm in the Sea of Japan. Arosa, flying the Cambodian flag, sank; seven of its 15-member crew have been rescued, one is registered dead and seven missing. West worked under the Mongolian flag, had a crew of 27, and went off the air nearly two days ago. Both crews were entirely Russian.
