ONE DEAD, TEN WOUNDED IN HELICOPTER CRASH IN KHANTY-MANSIISK

TYUMEN, November 4 (RIA Novosti's Alexander Perestoronin) - One person died and ten were wounded (three of them seriously) as a result of a Mi-8 helicopter crash in Khanty-Mansiisk (Urals Federal District, Western Siberia), RIA Novosti was told in the main department of civil defence and emergency situations of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area.

The helicopter of the KhantyAvia airlines was making a flight from Khanty-Mansiisk to Batovo (in the region) and went off the air after a landing made for refuelling, the department said.

For reasons that have not been established so far, the crew was making a crash landing when the helicopter turned over. It has 20 people on board: 17 passengers and 3 crew.

A commission is working at the site to investigate the reasons for crash.
