French President Jacques Chirac said Friday in Brussels that Russia and the 25 countries of the European Union have set themselves the task of forming four common environments, including the two that have already been agreed upon with their road maps. Certain aspects of the two remaining spaces and plans toward them are left to be coordinated, said the president. He did not specify the environments he implied but expressed confidence that all outstanding problems would be soon handled.
The leadership of the European Union is getting prepared for staging a Russia-EU summit in the Hague on November 11, reports European Union head Jan Peter Balkenende, Prime Minister of the EU-presiding Netherlands. The Dutch premier promised to bend every nerve to make the coming summit successful.
