MOSCOW, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - Dalai Lama has not applied the Russian Foreign Ministry for a visa, deputy official spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Troyansky told RIA Novosti on Friday.

However, his purely pastoral trip to Russia is currently being considered, he added.

"The Russian side respects wishes of Russian Buddhists who often asked about the Dalai Lama's pastoral visit to Russia," Mr. Troyansky stressed.

Russia adheres to its principled position on the problem of Tibet, he noted.

"Tibet is China's integral part and its developments are China's domestic affair," Mikhail Troyansky emphasized.

No official contacts with Dalai Lama who is regarded as a religious figure are maintained, he said.
