VLADIVOSTOK, November 8 (RIA Novosti, Anatoli Ilyukhov) - A search helicopter discovered two sailors in hydro-suites in the Sea of Japan, but failed to lift them from water.

The officials from the Far Eastern regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies reported that a rescue ship had been directed at the location indicated by the helicopter crew. However, there is only a slim possibility that the discovered people are still alive. It is going to be very hard to find them because the location is covered with heavy fog and it is getting dark.

The search for 32 Russian sailors from two dry cargo ships - the Arosa and the West -- that sunk during a storm in the Sea of Japan near the coast of the Primorye region continues for the sixth day. Only 9 sailors had been rescued, so far. There were 42 crewmembers on board both ships.

On November 2, the Arosa, carrying coal, and the West, carrying timber, sailed from Nakhodka (a port 100 kilometers west of Vladivostok) to Japan. They both sunk approximately two hours apart about 40 miles from the coast of the Primorye region.

The Transportation Prosecutor's Office in Nakhodka filed two separate criminal cases in relation to both tragedies. Investigators interrogate the officials who allowed the ships to leave the port despite the storm warning.
