"Such inter-party contacts should promote economic, business, cultural and political relations between our countries," Mr. Bogomolov stressed.
According to him, "many issues should be discussed at the unofficial inter-party level preceding interstate contacts".
The Secretary of the United Russia General Council came out for closer cooperation between the United Russia regional organizations, especially, in the Far East, and provincial branches of the Communist Party of China. "We should take all effort to improve relations between our countries, and United Russia and the Communist Party of China should act together," he stressed.
On his part, chief Chinese delegate, head of the international department of the CPC Central Committee Wang Jiarui stressed that the United Russia was playing an important role in the country's life. This party is our friend, he noted.
According to the CPC representative, the 68-million-member Communist Party of China maintains relations with over 400 parties in many countries". The goals of our contacts with the United Russia are to promote successfully developing partnership and mutual understanding between our countries, he emphasized. We do not discuss ideological cooperation, Wang Jiarui said. Our contacts aim to consolidate interstate relations, he concluded.
