Mr. Luzhkov said he was pleased the event was being held in Moscow. He said he fondly recalled his visit to Frankfurt during Moscow Economy Days in Frankfurt. "Earlier agreements are being successfully implemented" in the Russian capital, he added.
This is the first Frankfurt Economy Day in Moscow. Frankfurt is the largest financial and banking center in continental Europe, and this event is being held to increase cooperation with Moscow, Russia's financial center.
Business cooperation between the two cities was confirmed by a protocol signed by Moscow and Frankfurt government officials on May 2001. In 2003, Frankfurt hosted guests from Moscow on Moscow Economy Day in Frankfurt. The German delegation visiting Moscow is led by Mayor Roth.
During the event German and Russian economists and businessmen will discuss developing financial and business relations between the two cities in Moscow City Hall. Apart from that, Russian and German businessmen will meet in the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry and tour Vnukovo Airport.
